English PSD will be closed Friday, January 10. AMI work is no longer required as a result of school closure due to inclement weather. Staff professional development is scheduled for Monday, January 6. Activities planned for preschool students, parents, and guardians remain scheduled for Monday morning. Students in grades K-12 will return to school on Tuesday, January 7.

8th grade students in Mrs. McDaniel and Mr. Weber’s classes had the opportunity to participate in the Be Pro, Be Proud tour! This is wonderful program which introduced students to skilled trade careers. Students learn about the hands-on skills, demand for workers in these areas, annual average salaries and places to go for training!

Thanksgiving break is 11/25 - 12/2. Students return to school on Tuesday 12/3/24.

The Arkansas Peace Week Art Contest finalist show was held Saturday at the Arkansas Capitol where winners were announced. Ada Chen won 1st place for her “A Dove’s Wings of the World” piece she completed. Congratulations to Ada!

The NEW date for the 7-12 ALP Entrepreneur Day is November 14th. It will still be 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the GT kids and open for sales for all the students from 10am to 2pm. See flyer for all the details!

PJHS and PHS Beta Clubs participated in a Service Project the 8th graders proposed during our induction ceremony! Students helped facilitate a Fall Festival for the Agape House families in Paragould at a local park! "Thank you so much for everything! It was much appreciated. We had a great time and really appreciate the teens giving of their time." - Agape House Representative

Halloween Dance tonight from 6-8 pm! School appropriate costumes. Drop off and pick up at the back of PJHS. There is a $5 entry fee and concessions will be available.

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the High School and the Junior High Regional Chess Tournament on October 23 at the NEA Coop. It was a great day! The following students received a trophy: Dalen Burroughs and Ethan Wells both won 3 of 4 matches and Elijah White won 2.5 of 4 matches yesterday for high school. Paxton McGowen and Elijah Watson won 4 of 5 matches, and Alex Cook won 3.5 matches of 5 yesterday for junior high! Way to go both teams! 💙❤️
