Algebra 1 students Me' Shelle Hinson, Lukas Parker, and Eva Williams, Geometry student Cara Prince, Algebra 2 students Faria Khan and Wyatt Hancock, and Pre-Calculus student Jorge Lucas Neves were invited to the ACTM State Math Contest at the University of Central Arkansas at Conway due to their performance at the regional math contest on March 1. This past Saturday, April 26, five of these students traveled to UCA and competed with the best of the best math students in Arkansas. We are so proud of all of them. Lukas Parker earned honorable mention for Algebra 1 due to getting the same number of multiple choice questions correct as the 3rd place winner. It came down to tie breaker questions to determine which student received 3rd place and which one as honorable mention. This is quite the achievement. Way to Lukas!!

Make plans to check out the POWDERPUFF football games tomorrow night beginning at 6:00pm at Ram Stadium. This 2nd annual event hosted by the PHS Leo Club is not to be missed! Concessions and sno cones will be sold. All proceeds benefit Mission Outreach. Who will come out on top?!?!

Ms. Farley's and Ms. Haley held a 7th Grade Honors Math escape room on parallel lines cut by transversals and it was a hit! Students worked in teams to solve puzzles involving angle relationships like corresponding, alternate interior, and vertical angles. It was a fun and engaging way to reinforce their understanding while racing against the other teams!

Paragould School District administration will be watching the weather very closely on Wednesday, April 2. If severe storms impact our area prior to dismissal, or if the storms have the potential to impact our area during afternoon bus routes, we may need to modify dismissal plans. Notification of any changes to the normal dismissal plans will be communicated via text and push notification on the PSD app. Notifications will also be posted on Facebook, KAIT8, and through local radio stations.

Due to a power outage in the area, the PSD core network switch was affected, causing disruptions in network connectivity between buildings. The district's technology department has secured the necessary replacement parts and is actively collaborating with our network switch vendor to restore service. Due to an outage reported in the area, Paragould Municipal Utilities will be temporarily shutting off power to the secondary campus (grades 7-12) in order to resolve the issue. Power is expected to be restored in approximately 30 minutes. Please note that this will impact internet and phone services across the district.

7th grade math students in Mrs. Wilkinson and Ms. Farley's classes teamed up to compete in a Relay Race focused on finding the best deals! Using their knowledge of unit rates, students worked together to determine which of the three items offered the best value.

Let's start with entrepreneurs Me’Shelle Hinson, Maci Adams and Ada Chen who received 4th best business plan and 2nd place in retail booth at the YES Economics Arkansas Business Entrepreneur STATE competition! Their business is called "The 3 Chocolatiers". Next up we are shouting CONGRATULATIONS to Christopher Pham, for placing 3rd at the Thrown to the Wolves Business Entrepreneur Competition for his business "New Growths" which focuses on plants. But that's not all! The CONGRATULATIONS continue with 7 of our 8th grade Algebra 1 students who participated in the ACTM Regional Mathematics contest. We are thrilled to announce that Lukas Parker earned 1st place, Me'Shelle Hinson earned 3rd place, and Eva Williams was recognized as a top finisher. Wow! Last, but certainly not least, we are celebrating Mrs. Langston's 7th grade Science students, Paxton McGowan and Oliver Cook who were selected to participate in the 11th Annual Arkansas STEM Festival. This is a remarkable achievement (or as we like to say - a RAMarkable achievement). Congratulations to all of our Rams for showing up and showing out!

Seven of our 8th grade Algebra 1 students participated in the ACTM Regional Mathematics contest this past Saturday, March 1. We are happy to announce that Lukas Parker earned 1st place, Me'Shelle Hinson earned 3rd place, and Eva Williams is recognized as a top finisher. Congratulations to all three of these students!

Me’Shelle Hinson, Maci Adams and Ada Chen got 4th best business plan and 2nd place in retail booth today at the YES economics Arkansas business entrepreneur state competition today!!  Their business was The 3 Chocolatiers. They made homemade chocolate candies that was a huge hit today! The girls won a total of $400! Great job girls!  So proud of each of  you and your hard work! There were 162 teams that submitted for the competition that the girls competed in yesterday. The top 25 got selected to compete for the finalist. Then our girls got 2nd in one category and 4th in another out of only 4 different categories. They did amazing!
