PSD will be closed Friday, January 10. AMI work is no longer required as a result of school closure due to inclement weather. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and we believe this decision is necessary given the current conditions. We encourage everyone to stay safe and warm.

Staff professional development is scheduled for Monday, January 6. Activities planned for preschool students, parents, and guardians remain scheduled for Monday morning. Students in grades K-12 will return to school on Tuesday, January 7.

Fun things happening at PHS! Our Language Development class was able to tour the new City Hall and speak with Mayor Agee.
Congratulations are in order for our PHS Archery team who recently secured 1st place at Brookland and in other JROTC news...
Greenbrier stopped by to present them with a soldier's tribute as a thank you to all they did for them on Veteran's Day.
And one more bit of great news coming out of the high school...
The Arkansas State Teachers Association awarded Mrs. Horn, PHS 11th/12th grade counselor, a $500 grant to help provide yoga equipment for her Movement for Mental Health RTI class. It's a great day to be a Ram!





Congratulations to Josey Wright for receiving the A-State Art + Design Emerging Artist Award in Inspired 10! This award is a cash prize and, new this year, Professor Lydia Dildilian has eagerly offered to meet with Josey to discuss their work and/or pursuing and art degree and living as an artist.
In addition, Luann Shearer's work was featured on the Bradbury Art Museum social media in duck form.


Congrats to our eSports team at PHS! They competed and made it all the way to the state semifinals competing in Super Smash Brothers hosted at Wynne High School this week.

Bonnie Drennen, a PHS senior, was recently chosen as an all-state cast member for her outstanding performance as Betty Meeks in the PHS production of The Foreigner. Bonnie was selected by a panel of judges during the Arkansas State Thespian One-Act Competition held at Searcy High School on November 15th and 16th.

Construction Update at PHS:
During school hours the campus entrance adjacent to the softball field (off Medical Drive) will be closed for school traffic. It will be used for construction traffic only from 8:15-2:45pm. All traffic for student pickup and drop-off will still remain the same. Please use the entrance on Court Street.
Today, during 3rd period, 10/12th grade students will be taking the APNA Survey. Information on this survey is as follows:
Our school is participating in a statewide needs assessment survey. The survey, Arkansas
Prevention Needs Assessment Student Survey, is sponsored by the Arkansas Department of
Human Services.
The results will be used to help plan substance abuse prevention strategies and programs in
our community. Some important facts about the survey:
1) It is anonymous. Students will not put their names on the survey. No one
will be able to connect any individual student with his or her responses. School
staff will not see any student responses.
2) Participation in the survey is voluntary.A student may decline to
participate at any time or skip any question they do not wish to answer.
Questions cover alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and family and community factors related to
substance use and abuse.

Due to Pocahontas advancing in the football playoffs, they will be unable to play Friday night against our Rams. A make-up game will be announced at a later date.

Thanksgiving break is 11/25 - 12/2. Students return to school on Tuesday 12/3/24.

ALP Entrepreneur Day 2024 has come and gone and what a SUCCESS it was! Congratulations to our winners . You can find the complete list in the first photo. We are proud of our students for their creative thinking and entrepreneur skills.

On September 19, 2024 a group of 20 Paragould High School gifted and talented students attended a St. Bernards robotics day competition. Our PSD students were provided with the opportunity to experience what it is like to use a surgical robot. We would like to congratulate our Paragould students and staff for winning the competition. We would also like to thank St. Bernards for allowing our students to be a part of this unforgettable experience. Go Rams!
